A few reminders...

Hi there!

It's not too late to finish your summer reading! A few of you have most of your points, but need one or two to complete summer reading. Some of you are finished! If you want to know your status, send me an email at vmsreads@yahoo.com

Also, you can still submit through this blog, but if I can't figure out who you are because your blog name is way different then your real name, send me an email and privately tell me who you are. For example, I have a blogger named $$$$$$$$$$$ and I don't know who you are! Also, I don't know who bubblesbuddy6603 or poorbearjulie101 are. I understand not wanting to write your name on a blog - but please email me who you are so I can give you credit.

Another way to submit work is through your language arts teacher next week! Thanks and keep up the good work!

Mrs. Mikarts

My book is called Luis Sockalexis by Bill Wize.its about a the first native american to play in major leage baseball.its a history book.
Luis Sockalexis was a native american boy. One day he saw a group of boys hating a ball with a wooden stick. He watched for a while until a boy caled him over
to play. Thats when he fell in love with the game. Luis played high scool and college baseball.
Pat Tebeau,manager of the Cleveland
Spiders gave him his big break in the majors. After a while the chapionship game came along. He hit the wining homerun.
I liked luis's "don't give up" attitude. Ididn't liked the way the people taunted him just because
he was a native. Anyone would enjoy reading this book.it dosen't
remind me of any other books. I don't know any other books by this author.

My book is called Holes:The Book by Louis Sachar. Its about a kid named stanly who was acused of stealing a basketball playres shoes. Then he gets sent to a correctional camp.its an adventure book.
Stanley is just a regular kid until he is found responsible for a crime he didn't commit. He learns about a curse that has been in his family for several generations. His bad luck lands Stanley in a very hard core correctional camp in a Texas desert. The warden has all the inmates digging holes in a dry lake bed. The story weaves interesting tall tales from local history and Stanley's family. The relationships among the kids in the camp are interesting to follow. Stanley finds a good friend named zero, treasure, and learns to like himself.
I liked it when stanley found the treasure. I didn't like how the made fun of zero.people who like adventure types of books would like reading this book. It dosent remind me of any other books. I dont know any other books by Louis Sachar.
